Bianchi BicyclesThe Bicycle Emporium is now the Bianchi dealer for Northern NSW.
Bianchi is the oldest bicycle manufacturer in the world. In 1885 Edoardo Bianchi at the age of 21, started a small bicycle company in Milan. In 1895, Bianchi was invited to court in Villa Reale in Monza. Queen Margaret wanted to ride one of his bicycles. After this experience Mr. Bianchi went on to make the first lady's bike. It is also rumoured that the Celeste colour for Bianchi bicycles was inspired by the queen's eyes! Edoardo Bianchi also closely watched the sport of bicycle racing. He realized that it would be perfect for his company to test new bicycle technology. Resulting in many new innovations including a front braking system in 1913 that became the foundation of the modern caliper brake. In 1915 Bianchi made bikes for the military resulting in the first folding bikes and mountain bikes, with wide tyres, front and rear suspension and folding frames that allowed troops to ride through the mountains of Europe and the deserts of North Africa. At The Bicycle Emporium we carry a selection of Bianchi road bicycles, parts and accessories, with more products arriving regularly. Combined with our range of Colnago bicycles and accessories and Campagnolo parts, we are the Northern Rivers destination for all you Italian cycling needs! |
Marco PantaniPerhaps the greatest rider ever to grace a Bianchi, Marco Pantani was considered one of the best climbers in professional road cycling.
His aggressive riding style and spectacular attacks on some of the biggest mountains in Europe made him a legend, a favorite of cycling fans everywhere and revered in Italy. At the height of his career in 1998, Pantani won the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France a feat equaled by only 5 other riders, Fausto Coppi (twice), Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx (twice), Bernard Hinault (twice) and Miguel Indurain (twice). Marco Pantani also set the record for the top three fastest ever ascent of the famed Alpe d'Huez in 1994, 1995 and 1997. |

SpecialissimaBianchi's aim in developing the Specialissima was simple - to use CV to build the best ultralight bike in the world. By using Countervail in every part of the Specialissima frameset, Bianchi have been able to use thinner, stronger and stiffer tube sets without any of the drawbacks often associated with ultralight bikes, such as nervousness on descents, harshness or lateral flex.
The result is stunning - the handling, climbing, descending and acceleration of the Specialissima is quite simply class leading in every department. Using Countervail, Bianchi could have made a frame that was even lighter than its featherweight 780g, and have blindly pursued the crown of smallest number on the scales - indeed, they produced several prototypes that achieved this, and that rode better than many of its competitors, but that was not Bianchi's aim. The Specialissima needed to ride better than any competitor bike in the world, so a tiny amount of material was added in strategic locations to absolutely nail its ride quality - leave it close to being the very lightest, but more importantly delivering on Bianchi's goal of building the BEST ultralight bike you can buy. Frameset $7,499 Pantani Edition Frameset $7,999 |

ImpulsoImpulso in Bianchi's only aluminium alloy frame. The pinnacle of hydro-formed aluminium tubing combines stiffness with incredible lightness without sacrificing ride comfort. As with all of the bicycles in the Bianchi range, rider comfort if the highest priority.
The Impulso’s triple hydroformed technology (THT) top tube and aero head tube allows for stable, stiff and responsive turn-in when cornering switchback roads, while he sculpted rear portion of the bike reduces the amount of vibration that comes up into the rider’s seat. Geometry shared with the Infinito allows you to steer confidently at speed, stay relaxed while riding faster and farther with more comfort. Available equipped with Shimano 10 speed Tiagra, 11 speed 105 or 105 disc, as well as Campagnolo 10 speed Veloce. |
