Our current stock of the incredible Amsterdam NuVinci features the NuVinci Continuously Variable Transmission so that you never have to worry about changing gears, a rubber belt drive which is much smoother than a traditional chain-driven setup, fatter tyres for added comfort, and hydraulic disc brakes for stopping power when you really need it. The Amsterdam Elite is an incredibly unique bike, guaranteed to stand out from the crowd. Made by Fallbrook, the NuVinci builds on an idea from a 450 year old Leonardo Da Vinci sketch of a planetary gear system. Similar to other mechanical internal gear systems, the NuVinci gear is housed in the rear wheel hub, but the similarity stops there. While other internal gear systems have discreet gears and fixed gear-ratios, the CVT uses a friction system to create an infinite number of different ratios across a 330% or 360% gear range so that you can always find a gear that is comfortable.
