Ride west out of town to Burns Point Ferry Rd and cross the Richmond River on the ferry - $1 each way for bicycles, card only.
Once across the ferry, follow River Drive to Wardell, cross the bridge then left along the edge of Wardell and right onto the Alstonville-Wardell Rd. Over the bypass and a couple of little rollers and part way down the other side turn left into Bagotville Rd, which follows the edge of the valley down to meet the river again.

At the end turn right onto Broadwater Rd then just after the rest area turn left onto Kilgin Rd and follow this to Woodburn. Cross the river at Woodburn and turn left. There are toilets and shops just here.

Another couple of hundred metres and turn right onto the Woodburn-Evans Head Rd and follow this all the way into Evans Head. The Tuesday group ride usually stops for coffee and cake at the caravan park cafe, but there are plenty of options.

Coming back take the Broadwater-Evans Head Rd back to Broadwater and cross the highway and then the river onto Broadwater Rd back to Bagotville Rd. Turn right into Bagotville Rd and head back to Wardell, over the bridge and back to the ferry. 

Following the old highway back to Wardell is an option as is jumping onto the motorway (nice hotmix, but a bit low on tranquility).
